Dr. Charmaine Lok

President

Dr. Lok is a Professor of Medicine (University of Toronto), Senior Scientist, and medical director of the chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hemodialysis programs at the University Health Network, Toronto, Canada. She has a special research interest in CKD outcomes and innovation in CKD care. She has over 200 peer reviewed publications and has given over 250 lectures around the world. She has been involved in many CKD education and research programs internationally.

Dr. Lok was inspired by her patients and founded Kidney CARE Network International on the premise that even “little things” important to patients could have meaningful “big impacts” on their lives.

She received the prestigious Garabed Eknoyan Award from the National Kidney Foundation, United States for her efforts in improving the quality of life for people with kidney disease globally through exceptional clinical or research contributions.
